More About Meg
Sometimes, the most powerful statement is the one you make declaring who you are. To see and accept others as they are is an incredible gift… and, the basis of trust.
With that in mind, I proudly say:
I am…
- A survivor. My childhood is the stuff of Netflix movies, with poverty-stricken, addicted adults and constant instability. I married young, and developed PTSD due to the things I suffered both in my childhood and young adult life.
- A caregiver. I was very young when I took responsibility for my sister, and my veteran-mother’s mental health issues added to my responsibility.
- A healer. When I was a child, I’d go to the nursing home where my mother worked. That was the first time I heard that I have “healing hands”
- Neurodivergent. Although I wasn’t diagnosed with ADHD until I was 31, in retrospect I see evidence of it throughout my life.
- A first gen graduate. After I had my second child, I started college. I earned an Associate degree in 2019, my Bachelors in Science of Social Work in 2021 with honors and Masters of Social Work in 2022.
- Worthy of recognition. I was the second OSU Lima student ever to be awarded the Outstanding Leadership Award
- A homeowner. In 2023, I bought my dream home!
- An entrepreneur. While in college, I founded a non-profit that empowered people through art making and personal expression (Voices of Prosperity, 2020); I co-founded Houseplant Haven LLC in May 2022; Later that same year, I went into private practice and started Counseling, Creativity and Compassionate Care, LLC; My most recent addition has been Integritea With Meggie Empowerment Coaching after formally getting Reiki Master Certification Jan 2025
- Trained in multiple traditions. My integrated approach involves traditional evidence based practices along side holistic modalities such as energy work, Mindfulness, Oracle/Tarot cards, Reiki & Sound and Vibration therapy.
- Queer. I came out in baby steps over my adulthood… Now, I feel a special calling to work with women and LBGTQ+ folx.
